Pumpkins

Each year we go to a pumpkin patch to let the kids pick their own pumpkins. This year we had planned on going in early October, and then realized as we were on a plane to California for Auntie and Uncle Magoo 2's wedding that we hadn't gotten them yet. So after we got back (yes, just a few days before Halloween!) we went to the patch. It was a muddy day, but we didn't really have any choice. Chicky Magoo 2 doesn't really like mud, or wet pumpkins (apparently) was tippy toeing all over the place.

Then we got to the patch. Well- it WAS a patch of pumpkins, but 2 days before Halloween it has become a vine-patch, with almost no pumpkins! Okay- so we weren't the first people at the patch, but you would think it wouldn't take so long to find a pumpkin that isn't rotten. After MUCH searching, we found 3 pumpkins that we liked. YEA!

One thing we did find out while we were there is that Chicky Magoo 2 is afraid of the inside of pumpkins. She come across a pumpkin that had been smashed while we were walking. She stopped in her tracks and refused to "cross" the path where she could see the "pumpkin guts!" We finally had to pick her up and carry her out of the pumpkin shrapnel into "safe territory!"
