If you have never taken a 2 year old miniature golfing you definitely should! We decided to take the family today for a little fun. When we got there, both girls were very excited to play! We explained to Chicky Magoo 1 and Chicky Magoo 2 how to hold the club, what the rules were, and how hard to hit the ball. The first rule at this course was not to step in the water (and believe me they had plenty of water, fountains, and ponds around) because it was tinted with a blue dye that is permanent if it gets on your clothes. Why they would do this in water that has nets near you to scoop out your ball, because it definitely WILL go in the water, is beyond me? But- it did make it fun! I hit the ball in the water at least 3 or 4 times. Mr. Magoo had his share. Chicky Magoo 1 did once, but I think wished she could have fished them out each time. Chicky Magoo 2 took this rule the most serious off everyone! She was scared of her ball going into the water, and would tell us that she would just wait until later to play! She put her ball away from the water way down the green, as to make sure it was NOT going in!
We all had a great time, even with our 5 minute rain delay. By the end, Chicky Magoo 1 really started getting the hang of it. She made a 2 on a pretty hard hole. She wasn't that excited, because to her, it was all the same. It didn't seem to matter what the score was, just if we are having fun! I was particularly glad this was the case!!! :)
The Magoo Family game was funny to be around. I was just glad no one else was behind us either because we were taking a while at each hole. Not once did we use the 6 stroke rule, and made sure to just play it out! Mr. Magoo and I felt as though it was a comedy of errors that led to an eventful and fun outing! It is always a good time when you laugh and smile so much your cheeks hurt! :)
Golf Rules (according to a 2 year old)
1- You may scoot your ball around with the club.
2- If scooting doesn't work, just pick up the ball and roll it.
3- While others are taking their turn it is best to go directly in front of them, line up your ball and swing.
4- Hitting the ball in the hole does not mean your turn is done. Simply line up close to the hole as often as you can before everyone else finishes.
5- I am told you don't have to cry if your ball goes into the water, but I find it best to cry until the ball is retrieved. "It is turry!" (scary)
6- If there is an obstacle, say rocks, in the middle of the green, try to get your ball into that area. When you do make sure to say "oh man" and laugh as if you weren't trying to do it in the first place.
7-Did I mention that it is scary when the ball goes into the water?
8-Whenever possible tell each member of your team "I am REALLY dood (or good if you are already able to use a 'g' sound)
9-Have a good time, and cheer for everyone!
10-Again, I really don't like the ball going in the water!
Golf Rules (according to a 6 year old)
1- If the ball is close to the hole, hit it hard.
2- If the ball is far away, hit it softly.
3- When the ball goes into water, make SURE to ask if you can get it out. (Even if you have been told before that you won't be able to, it doesn't hurt to ask!)
4- Do a happy dance each time the ball goes into the hole.
5- Find the closest ball and accidentally tap it with either your club or kick it with your foot.
6- Cheer for your sister!
7- Cheer for your Mommy!
8- Cheer for your Daddy!
9- Above all else, it doesn't matter what the score is, HAVE FUN!

ALL of the rules of life should be so happy! :)
I think we should try golfing at Rough River. (Can you do that without the water hazards?)
